Made from my own paper-porcelain recipe, these vessels are extremely lightweight. The surface decoration and texture is inspired by the delicate channels formed as water runs across stone. Rivulets explores the relationship between erosion, resilience, light and shadow. Fine perforations invite the light to pass through the translucent paper-porcelain, emphasising its lightness and fragility, whilst its final strengthened organic form emerges as the paper burns away during firing: a beautiful poetic balance between deliberate intention and the kiln's transformative heat.
